The book was great. The movie was ok. The soundtrack is perfection.
This CD is all music--there is no dialogue, there are none of the rock songs ("Don't Fear the Reaper") that appeared in the movie. You need not have seen the movie, or read the book to appreciate the music.
This is the perfect disc to put on while reading, while sleeping, or just trying to relax. The guitars and synthesizer parts often remind me of Pink Floyd-type arrangements. Those of you who know "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" and "Us and Them" may see some parallels.
This disc has accompanied me through many hours of studying and has cradled me to sleep a few times also.
If you like original, beautiful music, you will treasure this.
